Our Facilities

Casa Tierra is situated in a beautiful, large house. Every room has been designed to ensure the children in our nursery feel safe to explore, create and express themselves.

It is important to us that the nursery has a cosy, home-from-home feel which allows the children to feel like they are central to it.

As well as our areas for sleep, we have distinct learning areas within the setting:

Art atelier/quiet activity room

This is where we create, explore and research using a variety of art and design materials and loose parts. Children are taken in in small groups so they have time and space to explore at their own pace and are not competing for resources.

The Cactus Room

Our youngest children spend time developing core skills and settling into the childcare routine in the cactus room. They start out here and this will be their core base until they they are around 2 years old, but we like to mix the age groups for shared learning opportunities and to allow siblings to spend time together, particularly during settling.

The Palm Room

This is where our 2+ year olds spend time learning through play. More intricate and challenging invitations to play are set up here and this is our largest room, giving the children space to set up larger creations with loose parts, for example. All children come here for music classes too.

The Climbing Room

This space is dedicated to developing our children’s gross motor skills – it’s their own, personal gym! All ages get to use this room in small groups.

The Garden

We have a large garden, which allows the children to choose a myriad of activities from paddling to gardening and from football to making mud pies. Messy play is really encouraged in our setting and is great for inspiring young scientific and artistic minds.
